Past President Brian W. Wasko passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022. He was 72. President Wasko joined the department February 1974 and during his tenure became a Life Member, served as a Fire Captain and the department President in 1986. President Wasko received the City of Dover Silver Medal of Valor in August 1991 for his Heroic efforts while removing a victim from a house fire in Capital Park May 1991. Mr. Wasko also served on several apparatus committees including two in 1989. Engine 4 (Squirt) and Engine 5, both with 2,000 gpm pumps the first in the DFD fleet. Mr. Wasko led the committee dubbing the department “Home of Super Pumpers” in his true New York fashion.
