The International Association of Arson Investigators recently held their annual training conference at the Dover Downs Hotel. The conference was from April 22 – 27, 2012. The conference offered the Investigators over 20 courses and 120 hours of in-person training. The DFD assisted in this training on April 25 with a live fire demonstration. This class was a hands-on class conducting live test burns including , spontaneous combustion, Ignitable liquid burn patterns on different floor finishes, cigarette test burns, cigarettes and gasoline, oxygen fires, cellulose fires, cigarette lighters and fire, coffee makers, toaster poptart fires, incendiary devices and the dangers of halogen lights. The event took place on the infield of the Speedway.
