Working Apartment Fire - Katrina Way

On February 24, 2012 at 2216, the Dover Fire Department was dispatched for a working apartment at 102 Katrina Way. Chief Fortney was first on scene to find a 3-story apartment with smoke showing from the ground floor apartment. E4’s arrived on scene crew and advanced a 1-3/4” attack line through the front door. Crews advance the attack line into the structure but encountered minimal fire due to sprinkler head activation. L1 arrived on scene and performed a search and rescue with negative results. Exposure apartments were searched for damage. The scene was placed under control and was later determined arson in nature by the City of Dover FMO. A suspect has subsequently been placed into custody.
