New Member Orientation

Tuesday, May 3, 2022

Last night six (6) new members of the Dover Fire Department completed their second night of orientation. During their orientation new members are shown where equipment is located on the apparatus and how it is used. They were also taught operational skills that they will be able to perform on the fire ground until they obtain the required training to become interior Firefighters. Each new member is required to pass a written and practical exam on the history and organization of the DFD, equipment location, SOGs and exterior operations such as throwing ground ladders, wrapping hydrants, pulling and loading hose. 14 DFD members assisted with last nights orientation.
