Wednesday, July 12, 2017

On Thursday April 13th 2017 at 11:58 am, the Dover Fire Department along with ALS, BLS, Station 54 (Little Creek) for the RIT and Station 41 (Camden) for a Ladder Company we dispatched to a report of a working fire in the basement of a multi family dwelling on North American Avenue in Downtown Dover. Chief Carey, who was in the area arrived with smoke evident from the alpha/delta corner of the building and established command. Engine 4 under the direction of Deputy Chief Ron Rhodes, arrived on the scene, established a water supply and stretched an attack line, finding a small fire at corner of the front porch area. The fire was extinguished, the basement was checked for any possible extension and the scene was scaled back to Dover units. Chief Carey placed North American Avenue under control and turned the scene over to the City of Dover Fire Marshals office.
