Thanks Dover

Wednesday, July 12, 2017

During the month of February 2017, the Dover Fire Department responded to a MVC with one subject heavily trapped after the SUV she was driving struck a row of trees on the east side of the City. Crews worked for roughly 30 mins to free the driver from the vehicle who was airlifted to the Christiana trauma center with life threatening injuries.

On Monday April 3rd, 2017, the driver of that vehicle, along with members of her family, took the time to stop by Fire Headquarters during the monthly Department meeting to thank the crews who saved her life on that late February night. The driver and her family also provided Capriotti's subs to the members to show their appreciation.

Members provided a tour of the fire station and also took the family for a short ride through the city on Rescue 1.
