Vehicle Into Structure

Thursday, July 14, 2016

On January 28, 2016 at 2009 hrs., the Dover Fire Department was alerted for a vehicle into a structure in the 800 block of Forest Street. While units were enroute, it was determined there may be two separate locations dealing with this incident. Duty Officer Glenn Whitt was first on scene in the 800 block of Forest Street to find a vehicle with heavy front end damage, in the street. The vehicle was abandoned and not into any structures. Dover PD advised there was a building in the 200 block of S. New St. with structural damage. Units enroute split between the two locations. E4, under the direction of Deputy Chief Ronald Rhodes arrived on S. New St. to find a single-story, commercial structure with heavy damage to the front of the building. Crews investigated for hazards. It was determined that the gas supply had previously been secured and there were no electrical hazards. After the City FMO arrived, units cleared.
