Working House Fire

On December 27, 2015 at 1810, the Dover Fire Department was alerted for a working house fire on 26 Carver Rd. The Duty Officer, Asst. Chief Glenn Whitt, was first on scene to find a two-story, single family dwelling with a heavy smoke condition on the first floor. E4 was the first engine on scene. They secured a water source from a nearby hydrant and advanced a 1-3/4” attack line into the residence. The crew was able to contain the fire to the room of origin. As additional resources arrived, the utilities were secured and primary and secondary searches were conducted, which proved negative. During the alarm, an additional incident occured in the City. Manpower was divided and two engines handled the second call without incident. The scene was placed under control and turned over to the City FMO.
