Christmas Eve Working Fire

Thursday, July 14, 2016

On Christmas Eve at 0556 hrs., the Dover Fire Department was alerted for a working mobile home fire at 1061 S. Little Creek Rd in the Dover East MHP. E4, under the direction of Deputy Chief (elect) Ronald Rhodes, was the first apparatus on scene. He reported fire showing from a single wide mobile home. The crew secured a water source from a nearby hydrant and advanced a 1-3/4” attack line through the front door. Crews encountered heavy fire conditions once inside with structural failure of the floor that made advancement challenging. E3 arrived on scene and assisted with fire suppression and securing utilities. E6 arrived on scene and performed a primary and secondary search of the residence that proved negative. The fire was brought under control and the scene was turned over to the City FMO. Special thanks to the BLS crew that ensured the crews were hydrated. Much appreciated on this abnormally warm Christmas Eve!
