PODS Fire - Weston Drive

On May 10, 2012 at 1652, the Dover Fire Department was dispatched for an unknown fire on Weston Drive. E4, under the direction of Chief Fortney, was first on scene to find several PODS storage units on fire. E4 established a water supply and advanced a 1-3/4” attack line to the units after gaining access through a fence. E3 arrived on scene and was directed to the rear of the units and to advance another attack line through an opening to join the other crew. L2 arrived on scene and the crew assisted in fire suppression. The fire was extinguished and overhaul was completed. In total, 15 units were lost; the majority of them were empty. The fire is under investigation by the City of Dover FMO.
