Working House Fire - Spruance Rd, Dover

On July 17, 2011 at 0621, the Dover Fire Department was dispatched to 114 Spruance Rd for a working house fire. E4, under the direction of Deputy Chief West, was first on scene and found fire showing from the “A” side of a 1-story single family dwelling. E4 secured a water source and advanced an 1-3/4” attack line through the front door of the residence. Crews found the bulk of the fire to be above them in the attic. E3 arrived on scene and advanced a second 1-3/4” attack line into the residence. L2 arrived on scene, performed horizontal ventilation and secured the utilities. E54-5 assisted with fire attack and extensive overhaul. R43 provided the RIT. Primary and secondary searches were conducted and two pet birds were removed from the residence in apparent good health. The fire is currently under investigation by the City of Dover FMO.
